Richard Smith of the Invictus Foundation visits Rivne
The guest got to know Rivne’s veteran sport: wheelchair basketball, sitting volleyball and the veterans’ sports club team.
On 23 August 2026, a delegation led by Richard Smith (Invictus Foundation) came to Rivne to see how adaptive and veteran sport is developing in the city.
The visit included meetings with veteran athletes: wheelchair basketball players on an outdoor court, the sitting volleyball team in the sports hall and members of the veterans’ sports club. There were group photos with the flag, autographs on the Ukrainian flag, and conversations about training, competitions and what the athletes need.
For us, visits like this are a chance to show international partners that adaptive sport in the Rivne region is already working — and to gather support for its growth.
