Challenge Sport Fest: the first adaptive sports festival
Open training sessions, canistherapy and activities for the whole family — for International Youth Day.
On 17 August 2024, the grounds of Rivne Lyceum No. 12 and the Rivne Professional College of Information Technology hosted Challenge Sport Fest — an adaptive sports festival for Ukraine’s defenders, their families, people with disabilities and young people. The festival was timed to International Youth Day and Ukraine’s Youth Day.
The programme included open sessions of wheelchair basketball, amputee football, badminton and boccia, archery, canistherapy sessions and activities from the regional “Sport for All” centre. Participants could try every sport, and a food court was open for guests.
The festival was organised by the Badminton Federation of the Rivne region and initiated by coach Mykola Diedovets. Challenge Sport Fest was the first adaptive sports festival of its kind in Rivne.
