The people behind the space
“Adapt Sport Rivne” runs on coaches, volunteers, medical partners and the players themselves. Here is who leads the work.
Mykola Diedovets
Badminton coach and Vice President of the Badminton Federation of the Rivne region (since 2019). He develops badminton in the Rivne region: the regional championship, internal and New Year tournaments, cooperation with the Lviv and Kyiv federations and with the Vinnytsia Badminton Club.
Initiator of the adaptive programmes — the sport-and-health projects “Badminton for all”, “Football for all” and “Wheelchair basketball” for veterans, people with war-related disabilities, their family members, and people with disabilities.
Initiator of the first CHALLENGE SPORT FEST adaptive sports festivals for veterans, people with war-related disabilities, their family members, and people with disabilities.
Initiator of the first adaptive badminton training in Ukraine, as a way of physical and psycho-emotional relief for veterans, people with disabilities and military personnel.
Awarded the sports ambassador 2023 “coin” by the Come Back Alive foundation.
The rest of the team
Below are roles, not specific people — we will add names and photos once agreed with the team.
Club coaches
Run the children’s and adults’ groups, prepare players for tournaments, watch technique and safety.
Programme coordination
Plan sessions for veterans and people with disabilities, keep in touch with the hospital and the Veteran Space.
Organising & support
Help at sessions and tournaments, welcome newcomers, run social media, take photos.
Rehabilitation specialists
Specialists at the Rivne Regional Clinical Hospital advise on load and indications for the adaptive groups.
Refereeing & stats
Build the brackets, keep protocols and live results, update the rating and the tournament archive.
